
The City of Dowagiac has announced the appointment of Matt Money as its new economic development liaison.
The city says the role is designed to support its efforts to bring new businesses to Dowagiac, foster economic growth, and assist developers with projects. In the new position, Money will report into the Dowagiac City Manager.
As economic development liaison, Money will focus on driving business engagement. Key responsibilities will include maintaining a real-time inventory of available commercial properties, helping to recruit new businesses, supporting the development of housing projects, and assisting entrepreneurs with state grant programs.
Since 2022, Money has served as the marketing and events lead for the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce. He’s also an active real estate agent.
Dowagiac Mayor Patrick Bakeman says, “With Matt Money in this new role, we’ll have someone focused on building connections and working every day to bring new opportunities to Dowagiac.”
