A ribbon cutting to celebrate the new WiFi project in Benton Harbor is planned for next week.
Cornerstone Alliance has been working to install free public WiFi in five heavily trafficked areas of the city. They include places like parks and housing developments.
Cornerstone is using a grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to make the project happen with approval from city commissioners. HUD approved Cornerstone for the $200,000 WiFi grant in 2022.
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Cornerstone Alliance Community Wi-Fi Project will be at Union Park next Tuesday at 3 p.m.
Cornerstone says it’s excited to see the project come to fruition so the community can have fast and reliable access to internet.
