A $22.6 million bond is being sought by Hartford Public Schools in next month’s elections.
The district says the bond would pay for a variety of mechanical improvements at the high school and middle school. Among other things, it would pay for new water pipes, a new water heater, new exhaust fans, restroom improvements, a new backup boiler, gas service improvements, and electrical work.
The bond would also help to improve safety and security with work on the parking lot, lighting, and entryways. A facilities assessment done this year identified the needs.
The district is planning a bond information night for next Tuesday, October 24 starting at 6:30 at the high school auditorium, and all residents are invited.
The election will be on November 7.
