Triple-A Michigan is estimating over 3.5 million Michiganders will travel over 50 miles for the holidays between December 23 and January 2. That is 110,000 more than last year and is predicted to be the third-busiest holiday travel period for the state. Over 3.2 million will drive, while nearly 200,000 will fly somewhere and 115,000 will use other transportation modes. Those driving are receiving the gift of lower gas prices, which are down 85¢ a gallon in the past month.
