A 53.3 pound, 48-inch long flathead catfish has been caught in Berrien County to break the state’s record. Lloyd Tanner of Hobart, Indiana caught the fish in the St. Joseph River on Sunday, May 29. It was 1.3 pounds heavier and about two-inches longer than the prior record flathead catfish, caught in 2014 in Barron Lake.
