Mosaic CCDA is spreading the word about its Free Weekly Resource Hubs, offered each Wednesday at the Mosaic Transformation Center at 1804 M-139 in Benton Harbor.

Mosaic President Andrew Robinson tells us they started the events about a year ago as a way to connect the people they serve with partner organizations.

“We offer an opportunity to our partners to be able to come and to offer their services so that people in the community can know some of the programs and the services that are out there that can help them meet their needs,” Robinson said.

Robinson says several partner organizations take part in the resource hubs.

“We have Riverwood, we have Corewell Health, we have counseling services, we have 1st Source Bank, Fifth Third Bank, Horizon Bank, United Federal Credit Union and the like they all come to participate because this is a way for them to be able to offer their services to a vast number of people who are looking for food, but need additional services to be able to be better.”

So, what sorts of help do people usually seek?

“Workforce training. Many people need mental health counseling. Transportation is one issue that we commonly see throughout the region. And then of course child care is another issue as well.”

Robinson says Mosaic partners can help with all of those things.

The resource hubs are held on Wednesdays to coincide with Fill the Fridge Program events, when food donated by Mosaic partners is distributed to those in need. Robinson says since there are already plenty of people there for the distribution, Mosaic thought that would be the best time for the resource hubs.

The free events are held every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m.
