Interviews for the position of Berrien County Administrator will be held next month.
Speaking to colleagues on Thursday, Berrien County Commissioner Bob Harrison said the county Personnel Committee has been working on a schedule.
“On the schedule sent to us by Chet Janik from the Michigan Leadership Institute, we would do some interviews in the week of April 27,” Harrison said. “I know several of the commissioners are going to be attending the Michigan Association of County meeting and so that would be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. So we would try and schedule those interviews for the Thursday and Friday.”
Commissioner Teri Freehling said the board will have to work around the Michigan Association of Counties meeting.
“I do know that the administrator interviews are critical and highly important, and I don’t want the two to kind of conflict with each other for strategic planning,” Freehling said.
The board is seeking to replace former County Administrator Brian Dissette, who left last month after about five and a half years. Retired Berrien County Prosecutor Michael Sepic is serving as interim administrator.
It was noted at the board’s meeting on Thursday the position of county administrator is also now posted to the county’s website.
