Planned for December 6 throughout downtown Bridgman will be the city’s annual Holiday Village celebration.

Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance Director Nancy Kiernan tells us the event is always a big hit, attracting a few thousand people to town. It’ll kick off with Christmas pancakes at Molly’s Beach Walk Cafe at 10 a.m. and the activities will continue through the evening.

There’s about 15 different activities throughout the day, including a pet parade at 3, a chili cook-off at Lake Time Brewing in the afternoon from three to five,” Kiernan said. “We have pictures with Santa Claus at Rising Kites.”

There will be a Holiday Pop-Up Market at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Christmas ornament painting at Rebecca’s Ceramics, a live nativity at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and pictures with the Grinch and Cindy Lou. Kiernan says it all will be topped off with firedancer Nick May at the Bridgman Courtyard.

We didn’t have him last year, but he’s coming back because he was a favorite from years previous. And he dances with fire and he breathes fire. And he’s got, I guess you would call them smudge pots that he juggles or in some other way kind of dances with the things that are on fire.”

The Christmas tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. and Kiernan says her favorite activity is the Christmas caroling throughout town.

Everyone’s invited to Bridgman on Saturday, December 6 for the fun. Kiernan notes the event has been moved up about a week this year to allow for the best weather possible.
