Berrien RESA Superintendent Eric Hoppstock has been honored with the Council of Administrators of Special Education Harrie M. Selznick Distinguished Service Award for 2024. The award is the highest honored bestowed by CASE, which represents more than 5,000 administrators responsible for the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act around the country.
CASE says the award goes to “individuals who have made outstanding and sustained contributions to the field of special education throughout their careers.” Hoppstock’s career in special education covers decades, and has included roles like special education director, supervisor, compliance officer, and school psychologist in addition to being a superintendent.
Hoppstock was given the award at an event in Savannah, Georgia last month. He tells us he’s humbled to be recognized.
