One man is facing gun charges after an investigation into illegal gun sales in Cass County this week.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says its drug enforcement team received a tip about a suspect, who is a known felon, selling drugs and being in possession of several firearms on Monday. Detectives were told the guns were being held in a travel trailer in Howard Township.

With the help of Pokagon Tribal Police, a traffic stop was made on the vehicle and travel trailer in Niles, and police found 21 guns and ammunition in the trailer.

The 40-year-old suspect was arrested for being a felon in possession of firearms, and further investigation found two of the guns were stolen.

The suspect remains in the Cass County Jail, and his name has not yet been released.
