Police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash in Cass County on Monday.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says deputies were called to the scene on US-12 just west of Mason Street in Porter Township shortly before 6:30 a.m. on a report of a body on the side of the road. They arrived to find a man’s body in the grass and believe he had been struck by a vehicle.
The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of family.
Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
Assisting at the scene were Michigan State Police, SEPSA Ambulance, and the Porter Township Fire Department.
