
Two Cincinnati residents are dead and another is injured Thursday after colliding with a dump truck on the Blue Star Highway in Saugatuck.
Police say the driver of a Buick SUV carrying two passengers disregarded a two-way stop sign near at intersection of Blue Star and North Street, where the vehicle was struck by a loaded dump truck.
The driver, a 70-year-old female, and front passenger, a-67-year-old female, succumbed to the injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. A 75-year-old rear passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The 26 year old male driver of the dump truck did not sustain any injuries.
The Allegan County Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident. The names of all subjects are not being released at this time until family is notified.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by AMR Ambulance, Saugatuck Fire Department, Graafschap Fire Department, Michigan State Police, Douglas Police Department, Cincinnati Police Department, and Allegan County Medical Examiner’s Office.
