Stone Lake Ice Fishing Bowl canceled due to lack of ice

The annual Stone Lake Ice Fishing Bowl in Cassopolis that was scheduled for this weekend has been canceled due to lack of ice on Stone Lake, Cassopolis Main Street announced Wednesday.

The event had already been pushed back to Feb. 4 in hopes that more ice would form, but it did not. The organization did say to stay tuned for more information on the village’s summer Beach Bash and Rock The Block summer concert series, which will be announced soon.

Winners of the 2022 Stone Lake Ice Fishing Bowl – $500 cash prize:

Bluegill – 8.75 inches, Ernie Van Lou, 81 years old

Crappie – 11.75 inches, Isaac Walker, 13 years old

Perch – 11 inches, Chris Evenhouse
