RSV, COVID-19 and the flu means we are in the middle of what doctors are calling a tripledemic. Priority Health senior medical director Dr. Dave Rzeszutko says cases of RSV in children are filling hospitals.

“All the children’s hospitals in the state of Michigan and outlying states as well are seeing that impact,” says Rzeszutko. “Speaking with state epidemiologists, the folks that track and trend and follow these things, the trajectory for RSV this time of year is really considered unprecedented.”

Rzeszutko says RSV is happening more because children aren’t as isolated as they were in the height of the pandemic. He recommends hand washing, covering your sneeze, and getting vaccinated against COVID-19 and the flu.
